Ingredients

  • 200 grams whole wheat pasta
  • medium broccoli, cut into florets
  • cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 50 grams pine nuts, toasted
  • tablespoons olive oil
  •  salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  2. 2 While the pasta is cooking, steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. 3 In a food processor, combine the steamed broccoli, garlic, Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Puree until smooth.
  4. 4 Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of the pasta water.
  5. 5 Toss the pasta with the broccoli pesto, adding some of the reserved pasta water if needed to make it creamier.
