Ingredients

  • 200 g red lentils
  • tablespoon oil
  • onion, finely chopped
  • cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • teaspoon turmeric
  • teaspoon cumin
  • teaspoon coriander
  • can of diced tomatoes
  • liter vegetable broth
  • 200 g basmati rice
  • pieces of naan bread
  •  Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Rinse the lentils under cold water until the water is clear.
  2. 2 Heat the oil in a large pan and add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until soft.
  3. 3 Add the turmeric, cumin, and coriander and cook for another minute.
  4. 4 Add the diced tomatoes, lentils, and vegetable broth. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 20 minutes or until the lentils are soft.
  5. 5 Meanwhile, cook the basmati rice according to the package instructions.
  6. 6 Heat the naan bread according to the package instructions.
  7. 7 Serve the dahl with the rice and naan bread, and garnish with fresh coriander. Enjoy your meal!
